Jen Sturtz loves materials, especially those from nature: wood, wool, rust, and paper. She received a BFA in sculpture from Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 2001 and has been making sculpture and accessories ever since.
“I’m inspired and intrigued by nature, light, tactility, and social behavior. I try to compel the viewer to touch, look through, and walk around the work. My sculpture has been an ongoing exploration of seeing the light within and finding center by making.”
She currently lives and makes art in the greater New York area with her husband and dog.
